Team Classes
The Philosophy of coaching in Ivanov's competitive gymnastics program is to promote the physical, mental, and emotional capacities of our gymnasts in a safe and positive environment. We believe that gymnastics competition teaches a number of life skills: positive preparation for a performance, grace and poise under pressure, patience, and a willingness to set long-term goals. Although it is exciting to compete, be challenged, and win, it is what happens to the gymnast as a result of the competitive experience that counts, not the medals and trophies won. Ivanov's gymnasts are encouraged to strive for excellence, not only in gymnastics, but also in all that life has to offer.
It is the goal of the Ivanov's program that our gymnasts achieve fulfillment through the joy of the effort and the results of commitment. We foster the ideal that true success is measured best in the confident knowledge that each gymnast has done her personal best. It is our hope that these gymnastics activities will be happy and rewarding for all team members.
To make the Ivanov's Team, gymnasts start taking gymnastics in pre-school or beginner gymnastics classes. Students get evaluated by their coaches during the regular class period, and are then selected to join Ivanov's Team. Class placement recommendations will be discussed with the parents by the end of the session. Gymnasts who are already competing in the USAG Junior Olympic program, may join the appropriate level Team class with prior approval of the Head Coach.
Team Summer Training Camp Information Now Available!
This training camp will focus on intense, high-level training, for those who want to spend the summer learning the skills they will need for the next competitive level. Final decisions on competition level for the 2010-2011 season will be made at the beginning of August after evaluation by head coaches. Team Members are NOT required to attend Summer Training Camp, but it can be very beneficial for them in order to get ready for next season.

2010-2011 Parents' Club Info
The First meeting will be held on August 12, 2010, at 6:00 pm. During the meeting, their will be elections for new board members and level reps. Please contact Charlene Roth (Mallory's Mom - Level 3) or Stacey Beaulieu (Sierra's Mom - Level 2) if you are interested in finding out about level rep or Board Member responsibilities. If a level has Mon, Wed and Tues, Thurs we will need a rep for both groups. Level Rep responsibilities are not really anything terribly difficult, but please contact Charlene or Stacey if you have any questions. I will post the officers' names once elections have been completed.
2009-2010 Competitive Season Congratulations!!!!
Ivanov's Gymnastics would like to wish a special Congratulations to Darian Duroncelet and Cecelia Chaney for their performance at State Meet on 3/26/10. Darian scored a PERFECT 10 on Beam, and Cecelia scored a PERFECT 10 on Beam and Vault! Congrats to both girls!!!
Cecelia also scored a PERFECT 10 on Bars at the Jambalaya Invitational AND the Riverboat Classic! Congrats, Cecelia!

- All levels: All Team Uniform Fees & Sizes (Fill out the row for your child in the binder in the Parents' Room)
- July 31, 2010: Team Summer Party
- 11 am-2 pm - Larayo Country Club - LaPlace, LA (Maps will be e-mailed out by the Parents' Club)
- This is a Potluck Function! Make sure to sign up in the Party Room for what you plan on bringing.
- All Returning and New Team Members and their families are invited. Please fill out the list giving us an estimate of how many people from your family will be attending.

- If any parents have a TV/DVD or VCR combo that we could borrow for the evening, it would be greatly appreciated.
- If any parents would also like to spend the night, please let me know. You can either respond via e-mail, call, or stop by the Front Desk and see Erin - Mon and Thurs from 5-7 pm, and Sat from 8:45am-Noon.
